Necessity is the mother of invention. Frustrated, I am starting this blog as a response to never being able to find what I am looking for. So I am bucking up and making it myself. Here I will gather all that is costume: Film & Theater Costumes, Costume History, Costume Designers, or any sparkly, pouffy or otherwise costume-worthy garb. As a natural additon to this I will also probably throw in quite a bit of set and production design as my favorite films always have a blend of both. This is sort of a personal study that I find myself already engaged in and in need of a way to organize and format the information for myself, and hopefully for others who find this sort of thing interesting.
I am very frustrated by the lack of in depth information on Costume Designers, which is something I want to concentrate on as much as possible. Finding information is actually really hard. A project that I am dying to undertake is a study of all the Academy Award Nominated films for Costume Design... of couse I will not be limited to these films only! There will be lots and lots of history here.
