Here's a nice little blurb over at Variety on Catherine Marie Thomas, Drew Barrymore's newest favorite designer and whose worked we all know and loved on Grey Gardens.

Well over a year ago I reported on the making of the new Grey Gardens movie starring Drew Barrymore: see that post here.

And now I think we've all seen it? I watched it a bit later as I was really busy the past couple weeks but I loved it. I thought it was great and Drew was fantastic. She definitely far exceeded expectations.

I don't know if I really need to go into the details that is the phenomenon of Grey Gardens
... so I'm not going to do that here. But instead I'll let Little Edie do a recap of of why she's amazing:

So now that the documentary has gone collosal in the past few years they of course could not stop there. There has been the follow up, the song, the broadway show, and now a movie which Drew Barrymore has been pegged for as Little Edie.

The costumes are by a ms Catherine Marie Thomas... I'm not very familiar with her work but she previously has designed both Kill Bill volumes and the newly released 27 Dresses.

It kind of works, right? Drew is absolutely one of my favorite people because she is just too damn cute... but romantic comedies are deffinately her thing. After thinking about it though, she has a natural affectation to the cadence of her voice that could totally work.

Notice the embroidery at the hem of this cover-up.

I'm really not trying to get a look at Drew's backside... I'm admiring the bathing suit. There's deffinately this whole 30s bathing suit/swimcap thing that's going on right now.
