I'm taking a break from the sketch dump to show off my finished my quilt top! Yay! I'm so excited. I kept showing anyone who would be polite enough to watch me struggle to show it off. I had wanted to make a Lap Quilt (is that even really a quantifiable measure of Quilt? I said that several times and I always got a chuckle from Quilty type peoples, but I thought it made a lot of sense) But I ended up making a square size quilt that is taller than I am.
(Cruddy pic, I know, I just don't have any surface that's large enough to spread it out evenly.)
This sucker took me almost five hours to iron- Five Hours!! I caught up on over an hour's worth of tv on the DVR, four swim matches, and the entire Women's Gymnastics All Around before I was finally done splaying all those little damn corners so all the seams go opposite directions. Is it just me? Is there some quilter's trick I'm not getting?
I can't wait to get quilting. I'm supposed to be using this time off work to finish my school book list but the quilting is getting the better of me. I'm going to have to alternate- 1 hour quilting, 1 hour reading, 1 hour quilting... lunch...
